Honkai: Star Rail 3.4 is about to welcome its phase 2 banners. However, this banner features no new characters, only reruns of three older characters. Against the backdrop of the Version 3.0 era, are Firefly, Jingliu, and Blade still worth pulling? Today, let's analyze the Version 3.4 phase 2 banners!

Firefly

Analysis

As the former top-tier Break Main DPS, Firefly was incredibly dominant in the Version 2.0 era. However, due to the Version 3.0 environment being less favorable, the performance of Firefly's Super Break team can only be described as average now, barely guaranteeing a clear floor.

As a Main DPS, Phainon and Saber are currently more worth pulling in Version 3.4. The priority for pulling future reruns of Castorice and The Herta is also higher than Firefly. Therefore, for Trailblazers who haven't pulled Firefly yet, she is no longer recommended in the current version.

That said, Firefly's strength sees a significant increase after reaching Eidolon 2. So, if you currently have Firefly at E1 with her Signature Light Cone (E1S1), you could consider pulling for Eidolon 2. If your current setup is E0S1, the subsequent investment cost would be relatively high, and pulling is similarly not recommended.

Signature Light Cone Analysis

Firefly's Signature Light Cone, "Whereabouts Should Dreams Rest," provides her with 60% Break Effect and 20% Break Vulnerability, both valuable gains. There aren't many suitable alternative Light Cones; the Herta Store's "On the Fall of an Aeon" is the best substitute. However, the Signature Light Cone's upgrade for Firefly isn't exceptionally large; "On the Fall of an Aeon" is sufficient in most cases. If you want to strengthen Firefly, it's recommended to prioritize Eidolon 2.

Jingliu

Analysis

After her buffs, Jingliu has completely shifted from an ATK-scaling Main DPS to an HP-scaling one. This brings noticeable changes. Simultaneously, her rotation capability has improved significantly due to the buff to the [Syzygy] mechanic. Jingliu now enjoys a longer burst duration during the "Spectral Transmigration" state, resulting in a vastly enhanced overall experience, bringing her into the tier of Version 3.0 Main DPS characters.

Therefore, Jingliu's buffs are substantial. Veteran players can bring her back. While she might compete for teammates with Castorice and Mydei, revisiting her is an option.

However, Jingliu's overall power still falls short compared to Castorice and Mydei. Given similar approaches, it's recommended to prioritize pulling other Main DPS characters.

Signature Light Cone Analysis

The strength of Jingliu's Signature Light Cone, "I Shall Be My Own Sword," is quite impressive, providing 20% CRIT DMG, 42% DMG Boost, and 12% Ignore Defense. It holds its own, and Jingliu's synergy with it remains high.

From a pulling perspective, however, Mydei's Signature Light Cone (also within the HP-loss playstyle) surpasses Jingliu's. It offers higher HP% scaling and additional mechanics and DMG Boost values, attributes Jingliu finds scarce. Therefore, if you want to strengthen Jingliu, pulling for Mydei's Signature Light Cone is recommended.

Blade

Analysis

Among the four buffed characters in Version 3.4, Blade received the smallest adjustments. The main change was optimizing his multipliers by unifying his dual ATK + HP scaling into pure HP scaling. After stacking HP, his damage output increases significantly, and his HP-loss mechanic also received strengthening. Overall, he is now competent.

But Version 3.0 has introduced too many HP-scaling Main DPS options. Castorice is the optimal choice. Next is Mydei, who has high overlap with Blade but is easier to play. Version 3.4 Jingliu also became HP-scaling. Therefore, Blade is no longer the top choice. Even if you like Blade's playstyle, it's recommended to prioritize Mydei.

Signature Light Cone Analysis

After his buffs, Blade's Light Cone choices haven't fundamentally changed. His Signature Light Cone, "The Unreachable Side," remains the best option. Therefore, for Blade, if you want to strengthen him, his Signature Light Cone has high priority. For Trailblazers committed to Blade in Version 3.4, consider pulling his Signature Light Cone if budget allows.

Conclusion

Overall, the three rerun characters in the 3.4 phase 2 banners are all Main DPS units. Firefly received a new outfit but no strength buffs. Jingliu and Blade are the two buffed HP-scaling Direct Damage DPS characters. Their pulling priority shows a noticeable gap compared to Castorice and Mydei. Therefore, the 3.4 phase 2 banners don’t require significant investment; it's a stage where saving Stellar Jade is advisable.
